The Department of Science at the University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus invites applications for a term instructor position in Environmental Science. This position involves responsibility for teaching one lecture section in the 2022 Winter term (20 to 35 students).
The course is listed as AUENV 335 Wildlife Ecology and Management and explores the theory and practices in the study and management of wildlife populations and wildlife communities. Subtopics include population dynamics, habitat assessment and management, conservation challenges, and emerging trends. The majority of students enrolled in this class are Environmental Science/Studies and Biology majors.
For the 2022 Winter semester, the lectures will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:15PM to 1:45PM and will cover an 11-week term (January 26th to April 14th, 2022). It is expected that the term lecturer will teach all lectures in person.
The successful candidate will be expected to hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field, and will preferably have recent experience in university teaching at the undergraduate level. A PhD degree is considered an asset.

This position is in accordance with the Academic Teaching Staff Agreement of the University of Alberta. It has an appointment from January 1 to April 30, 2022, and is subject to budgetary approval. Salary is commensurate with experience in accordance with the ATS Agreement which also stipulates benefits.
